Capitalisation and punctuation in Items and Properties

To ensure a consistent and readable data systems, we need some rules and writing hygiene in the way we add information.

In most languages

  • Label is not capitalised, except when the first word is always capitalised, such as a personal name or abbreviation
  • Description is not capitalised and ens withaout a period or full stop.

In German

  • Label is infinitive phrase, not capitalized (only if starting with a noun, those are always capitalized in German)
  • Description is infinitive phrase as well, but consistently capitalized and ending in a full stop.
