European Sound Specialists are sound operators working at EQF Level 5 in various fields of live sound engineering, such as concert and theatre sound and other related fields.
In addition to the technical and musical competences traditionally expected of sound engineers, they are equipped with good communication skills, awareness and appreciation of the artistic and production contexts in which they operate, and a wide range of practical background knowledge and cognitive strategies to help them navigate the increasingly abstract and complex challenges of their profession.
They take on department and team leadership as well as planning and evaluation responsibilities. They facilitate, assess and guide the professional development of their team members as well as their own.
